Kawasaki ZZR 1100. Trying to get home with fan failure and high temps

Whilst out at the weekend I noticed the engine temp had suddenly started to rise and was quickly heading for the red. I was on the way back and decided to press ahead relying on the air flow through the Rad to keep the engine out of the red. That worked fine whilst on the Expressway but proved more difficult once I was caught in Traffic. The ambient temp here is always high and most big bikes run with the fan on all the time so having mine not working was a real problem.
